Learn about this radio and recording legend!

The Bill Randle Chronicles is a book written by Roger Lee Hall,
a music preservationist and former disc jockey, who once worked for Bill Randle as his teaching assistant
and taught Randle's class on "The History of American Popular Music."

A major part of the book is about the early promotion of Elvis Presley and making a movie short in 1955 which included the first filmed professional footage of Elvis Presley in performance.

There is also information about the 10 LP album set, "The Shaker Heritage," which Bill Randle produced in 1961 for research libraries. The music portion of that album set was later released on a 2 CD set with 72 page historical booklet written by Roger Hall and released by Rounder Records. It was titled:

Also included at no extra charge is a Free audio file sent by email attachment
with a rare air check from 1955 with Bill Randle on his radio program where he talks about an Elvis Presley song and reads some funny comments made by his teenage radio listeners.

In the mid-1970s, Roger Hall worked as teaching assistant for Bill Randle and he taught Randle's class:
"The History of American Popular Music
" at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Hall is now a music preservationist and Director of the Center for American Music Presentation (or CAMP)
and web master for a long-running page -- Early Elvis.
